   Zug and business did not always fit together as it seems today. Meanwhile, the big neighbouring city Zurich struggles to put up with the huge growth of the small canton on the idyllic Lake Zug. Famous Zurich newspapers publish offensive title stories. The Handelszeitung just recently wrote an article on Zug entitled „Popular playground for criminal conjurors“. But where does this resentment and envy come from and what factors played a role in the development of Zug as one of the leading business locations in Switzerland? Ironically, it was in the 19th century when industrialists from Zurich started to establish factories in the neighboring canton. Later, Zurich star lawyers, who wanted to impose a tax-favorable policy and failed on the radical left politics, found a base in the canton of Zug. As more and more business people come to Zug, the need of serviced apartments increases. As a survey of CSL real estate from the summer of 2018 shows, the demand for serviced apartments in the canton of Zug is still rated as very high.

But what makes Zug, along with a liberal tax policy and a unique market environment, so attractive as a place of residence? - We think it is the compromise.

The compromise between Lucerne and Zurich, between economic center and tourism metropolis, between business and beautiful nature. Or as the Swiss magazin "Bilanz" describes it: The head moves to Zurich, the heart to Lucerne. With a serviced apartment in Zug you can satisfy both needs, because ultimately, a train ride of less than 30 minutes is fairly easy to cope with.

This compromise also attracts sports stars from all over the world. With the ice hockey club Zug (EVZ), the rather small canton makes a quite competitive team in the National League A. Not infrequently, players from overseas enrich the team from central Switzerland. These athletes want to concentrate on their strength and therefore choose a serviced apartment, not an unfurnished apartment.

Serviced apartments enrich the city of Zug and will change the accomodation market in the future. Zug already is the European leader in Blockchain Technology and named Crypto Valley, based on California's Silicon Valley. The establishments of these new tech companies are already leaving its mark on the serviced apartments market - and this is only just the beginning.
